Supplements
Many people swear by "natural" supplements for their dog's HD pain. Below is a list
of supplements some people give their dogs. Please, consult a holistic veterinarian
before adding supplements to your dog's diet. Even though they may be
"natural", they may have side effects nonetheless, and you should be informed
as to their interactions and combinations before adding them to your dog's diet.

Nutrition
Many people have strong feelings about the connection between HD and nutrition. I have heard many people
say that there is a connection between grains and sugars and arthritis, and cutting down on grains will
ease a dog's arthritis pain.
I believe we should all learn what our dogs are eating. Commercial pet foods are pretty frightening if you learn
what is in them. There are some pet foods out there that are better than others. There are many webpages out there
that focus on nutrition, so I will not go into too much depth on the general issue of nutrition.
Here are some pages that discuss the relationship between nutrition and HD.
